The full-service restaurant experience is a combination of food and drink service, product quality, atmosphere, and general customer service. Consider the many benefits of full-service restaurants and the experience they offer customers.

Why Full-Service Restaurants are Better

Quality Time

Quality time is irreplaceable, and food and dining are often associated with bonding and spending time with a loved one. Because full-service establishments allow for time to spend together, they will always remain a popular outing. Restaurant offerings are also more diverse and conscious than ever before, enabling people of all different walks of life to enjoy dining out.

Alcohol Service

One stand-out benefit of full-service restaurants is that they are far more likely to offer safe and responsible alcohol service. In fact, in some states, this service is becoming more regulated to ensure restaurant service quality and accountability.

Come July 1st, 2022, according to the Responsible Beverage Service Training Act under Assembly Bill 1221, enforced by the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, all purveyors of alcoholic beverages will need to train for and pass the RBS certification exam.

Through thorough RBS training, full-service restaurants will be able to better provide safer, more responsible alcohol service by maintaining a thorough understanding of best practices for serving alcoholic beverages.

This mandatory RBS training and certification for all alcohol servers and managers will ensure establishments in California can keep serving alcohol to customers safely and reduce rates of excessive consumption.

Dietary Restrictions & Preferences

Restaurants cater to dietary restrictions and preferences for an enjoyable, personalized dining experience. For example, steakhouses now offer gluten-free and vegan options to demonstrate menu inclusivity, which encourages a wider range of customers to eat out.

Atmosphere

Atmosphere largely comes from the overall aesthetic and layout of a restaurant, which is often achieved by décor, and a mix of indoor and outdoor dining. In California, because of how warm it is, many restaurants offer patio dining for a casual, social atmosphere.

Full-Service Industry Legal Insights

The revenue generated from the full-service restaurant market in California clocked in at just over $30 billion in 2021. That is a lot of money being spent on food, drinks, and dessert. With such a large generation of capital, important questions regarding operational legality can arise.

A great resource to consider if you’re looking to stay up to date on the latest news and trends regarding full-service restaurant operation laws is the California Restaurant Association (CRA). This group acts as a database to report on relevant industry insights. One such insight that the CRA has reported on is the upcoming necessity to earn your state-required RBS Certification.
