Partying in clubs and having a cocktail or two sounds fun until it starts burning a hole in your pocket. So instead of spending a fortune on cocktails, mix some of your own in your home.

These easy, basic-ingredient recipes are fun to make and will surely brighten up your party. And for students who are of legal drinking age, hosting an at-home cocktail soiree can help save not only dollars but time, also. If you are worried about completing your assignments on time, know that you can hire an essay writer to write essay for me by DoMyEssay and make sure your grades remain high. And besides, these recipes don’t take much time to make anyway.

7 Budget-Friendly Cocktails to Get Your Party Started

Mojito

Mojitos have some of the basic ingredients and yet look sophisticated. They are perfect for summers, birthday parties, or just any celebration in your dorm.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lime cut into quarters
  • Crushed ice
  • A few mint leaves
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 50 ml white rum
  • Soda water

Method:

  1. Squeeze some lime juice in a jar. Add mint leaves and sugar and crush them using a rolling pin till the juices are mixed.
  2. Add ice and rum on top of it. Lastly, add the soda water as per your taste.
  3. Garnish with lime or mint leaves, and enjoy!

Strawberry Gin and Tonic

A good gin and tonic cocktail is everyone’s favorite. Add to it the freshness of strawberries, and you are good to go for a summer party!

Ingredients:

  • 50 ml strawberry syrup
  • 50 ml gin
  • Tonic water
  • Ice cubes
  • Sugar
  • Fresh strawberries
  • Mint leaves

Method:

  1. Fill a glass with ice and add the strawberry syrup, followed by the gin.
  2. Top it with chilled tonic water. The strawberry syrup adds sweetness to the drink, so put in additional sugar only if you like.
  3. Garnish with freshly cut strawberries and mint leaves. Serve.

Daiquiri

Daiquiri is a pretty versatile drink. You can serve it plain or add your own twist with strawberries, blue curacao, or grapefruit juice.

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml light rum
  • 10 ml sugar syrup
  • 30 ml lime juice
  • Lime wedges
  • Ice

Method:

  1. Put ice in a shaker. Add the rum, lime juice, and sugar syrup and shake it well. If you don’t have a shaker, you can also stir the drink.
  2. Transfer the drink to a chilled glass and garnish it with a lemon wedge.
  3. For blue daiquiri, just switch the sugar syrup with 10 ml of blue curacao.

Espresso Martini

Want a caffeine boost with your cocktail? Whip up this espresso martini for a perfect mix of vodka and coffee.

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml vodka
  • 10 ml coffee liqueur
  • 30 ml freshly brewed or cold brewed espresso
  • 10 ml sugar syrup
  • Coffee beans

Method:

  1. Fill the shaker with ice. Add vodka, liqueur, espresso brew, and sugar syrup. Shake until chilled.
  2. Strain into a chilled glass. You should get a frothy layer on top if shaken properly.
  3. Float coffee beans on the frothy layer. Serve.

Note: To get the signature coffee layer, brew espresso coffee in a coffee machine. Don’t use instant coffee or any other coffee powder.

Cape Codder

Also known as Vodka Cranberry, this beautifully colored drink is named after a coastal town in Massachusetts with abundant cranberry produce.

Ingredients:

  • 50 ml vodka
  • 80 ml cranberry juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedges

Method:

  1. Fill a glass with ice and add vodka over it.
  2. Mix in the cranberry juice and squeeze in some lime.
  3. Garnish the edge of the glass with a lime wedge and serve.

Moscow Mule

This ginger beer drink is great if you want a spicy option on your cocktail menu. Funny enough, the drink is neither related to Moscow nor to mules.

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml vodka
  • 90 ml ginger beer
  • 20 ml lime juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wedges
  • Lime wheel

Method:

  1. Add some lime juice and some ice cubes to a large mug and drop in a lime wedge.
  2. Pour the vodka over the ice and fill the glass with ginger beer.
  3. Stir well and put a lime wheel on the edge.

White Russian

A twist to the classic cocktail “Black Russian,” this drink is easy to make and tastes awesome. Perfect for evening parties or when you just want to chill with friends.

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml vodka
  • 30 ml coffee liqueur
  • 1 spoon of heavy cream
  • Ice cubes

Method:

  1. Mix the vodka and coffee liqueur in a glass. Add some ice cubes.
  2. Add the heavy cream over it.
  3. Do not stir vigorously, as it will simply create a beige-colored drink. Instead, lightly swirl a few times, and the cream mixes with the dark liqueur, giving the classic White Russian color.

Prepare for Some Fun-Filled Student Parties

Mixing your own drinks at student parties doesn’t have to be costly and tedious. The above recipes are easy, only require a few ingredients, and most of them cost less than $5 to make. Stir up some of these cocktails at your next party, and watch as your friends swoon over your cocktail-mixing skills!
